Fundraise 2

Introduction

The HKSAR Government has decided to issue money to all citizens that are at least 18 years old. This is unfair as people below the age of 18 are barred from receiving the money. Hence to benefit from it is to benefit from adultism, and so the consecrated would contribute all of such monetary benefits in a fundraise to fulfill their obligations. This document calculate the monetary benefits that have to be contributed.

Expenditures

Similar to during Fundraise 1, the HKSAR Government issued this money in the form of consumption vouchers, where one would have to spend the money in a certain way to access it. But, unlike Fundraise 1, I have decided to perform the fundraise in a more efficient method. That is, I will spend all the money within the consumption vouchers in a single purchase, buying gold, and then resell the gold later to convert the consumption vouchers into cash. This way, the accounting of monetary benefits received from the HKSAR Government will be greatly simplified: if the end amount of cash is lower than the amount of money within the consumption vouchers, it is my terrible investment strategy with gold that costed such a lost, hence I still owe a grand total of 5000 HKD to the Anti-Adultism Fund; if the end amount of cash is greater than the amount of money within the consumption vouchers, the profit is counted as additional monetary benefits that could only have existed due to the consumption vouchers in the first place, hence also owed to the Anti-Adultism Fund. So, below are the transactions performed to turn the consumption vouchers into cash.

Government Consumption Voucher (5000 HKD)

Date Expenditure Credit (HKD) Debit (HKD) Proof
7th of April, 2022 Receiving money from the HKSAR Government 0.00 5000.00 (Not required)
9th of April, 2022 Chow Tai Fook 6255.00 0.00
22th of April, 2022 Choi Kee (Hong Kong) 0.00 5400.00

Conclusion

In the tables above, it costed me 6255.00 HKD to buy the gold, but selling the gold only gave me 5400.00 HKD in cash, resulting in a net loss. Therefore, as explained above, I owe a grand total of 5000.00 HKD to the Anti-Adultism Fund: monetary benefits that have to be contributed in upcoming missions.
